Our history
La Ferme de Basseilles
Pious legend has it that in the 7th century, Saint Mort, shepherd of Saint Begge, came to the region, which was suffering from a terrible drought. The saint planted his crook in the meadow at Basseilles and clear, abundant water gushed out, which is still said to be miraculous.

Mentioned as early as 875, the place may derive from “Basilica”, meaning “non-parochial oratory”. In the 13th century, it was the most important estate of the Grand Hôpital de Namur, and was used as a leprosarium. Later, Basseilles became the seat of a seigneury acquired in 1755 by the Lord of Andoy.
The impressive architecture includes limestone rubble volumes from the 18th and 19th centuries, with an 18th-century entrance gate and a barn that was probably restored in the 19th century after a fire. The brick main building was built around 1900.
The farm lies at the heart of a natural site whose landscapes are listed as part of the Walloon heritage.
Our project
In 2020, incarceration gave us time to think deeply and extensively about a common project with meaning. We wanted to make the values we hold dear central to our lives: sharing, getting back to nature and love.
As our children grew up and left, it was clear to us that we needed to remodel the building without impacting the agricultural activity, which is still strong on the farm.
It was also an opportunity to reinvent ourselves by involving the younger generation.

Our mission
Our passion is to share our love of nature in a unique setting.
The farm is located in the Condroz, a hilly region characterised by alternating woods, fields and meadows. This biotope is an ideal breeding ground for flora and fauna.
In the accommodation, you can enjoy this ideal environment in harmony with large deer, roe deer, wild boar, badgers and, of course, smaller animals such as dragonflies, fireflies, salamanders and local birds.
To complete the experience, we have selected local partners who allow us to offer you quality products that respect nature and people.
Welcome to our world, where you can reconnect with nature and the basic needs for an authentic and meaningful holiday with your loved ones.
